Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Casale (Switzerland) will modernize capacities of Navoiazot joint stock company on production of nitric acid.

Shareholders of Navoiazot gave their permission to sign an agreement with Casale (Switzerland) for construction of capacities on production of nitric acid on “turn-key” bases with the cost of US$177 million.

Earlier it was reported that the project envisages complex reconstruction of facilities for production of nitric acids based on new power and technologic equipment.

The reconstruction will help to increase production of non-concentrated nitric acid by 1.4 times – to 500,000 tonnes a year.

The project will be financed due to own resources of Navoiazot, loan of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, loans of foreign banks, as well as loans of the contractor.

Navoiazot is a largest chemical enterprise, which was launched in 1964. It produces nitric fertilizers, nitronic fibre and other products.
