Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-May 2021, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 160.0 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production by the same period in 2020 amounted to 108.2%.
In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (81.6%), the volume of production of which amounted to 130.5 trillion soums.
The main factors of growth in the physical volume of industrial production were its increase in mining enterprises - by 2.7%, manufacturing - by 9.6%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 13.1%, in water supply, sewerage, collection and disposal of waste - by 3.8%.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-May 2021 amounted to 16.0 trillion soums, or 10.0% of the total industry.
Manufacturing enterprises in January-May 2021 produced goods for 130.5 trillion soums, or 81.6% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries amounted to 2.5% (1.6% in January-May 2020), medium-high-tech industries - 20.4% (24.6%), medium-low-tech industries - 40.6% (38.6%) and low-tech - 36.5% (35.2%).
In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semitrailers and other finished products amounted to 17.5% (the physical volume index amounted to 5.3% against January-May 2020), the metallurgical industry - 27.6% (11.7%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 18.2% (22.0%), for the production of food, drinks and tobacco products - 15.9% (6.5%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.4% (9.7%).
In January-May 2021, the republic produced 456.2 thousand tons of motor gasoline (compared to the corresponding period of 2020, a increase of 3.4 %), 259.0 thousand tons of cotton yarn (an increase of 35.3%), 84.9 million liters of beer (16.7%) and 767.4 thousand tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled (a decrease of 6.1%).
In January-May 2021, 1 606 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, the volume of production increased by 11.3%).
In January-May 2021, 323 buses were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, there was a decrease in production by 27.9%).
In January-May 2021, 57.4 thousand units of automobile engines were produced in the republic (a decrease by 39.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2020).
In January-May 2021, 173 tractors were produced in the republic (by January-May 2020, the production volume decreased by 72.2%).
In January-May 2021, 283 pieces of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, a decrease in production by 43.7% was recorded).
In the automotive industry in January-May 2021, 25059 Cobalt cars were produced (-16.8%), 11130 - Nexia (-62.2%), 16848 - Gentra (-20.9%), 22799 - Damas (+2.9%), 4942 - Spark (-59.4%) and 5016 - Labo (+81.1%).
The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and to exceed the production figures of the previous year for the production of methyl alcohol (10.6 times by January-May 2020), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (+34.4%) and caustic soda (+62,9%). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of ammonium sulfate (-18.6% compared to January-May 2020).
If in January-May 2020 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 25.0%, and the volume index increased by 3.5%, then in January-May 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 27.6 %, the index of physical volume increased by 11.7 %, while the volume of production amounted to 36.08 trillion soums.
In January-May 2020, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, increased by 10.0%. In January-May 2021, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 5.1%, the index of the physical volume of production increased by 16.0%, and the volume of production amounted to 6.65 trillion soums
If in January-May 2020 the share of food production in the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.5%, and the physical volume index, in relation to 2019, reached 105.9%, then in January-May 2021 the share of food amounted to 12.9%, the index of the physical volume increased by 5.9%, the total production amounted to 16.85 trillion soums
At the end of January-May 2020, the share of beverage production in the structure of the processing industry amounted to 2.2%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, increased by 5.1%. In January-May 2021, the share of beverage production was 2.4%, the physical volume index was 17.9%, and the production volume reached 3.12 trillion soums.
At the end of January-May 2020, the share of the production of textiles in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.4%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, amounted to 13.2%. In January-May 2021, the share of textile production amounted to 14.4%, the index of the physical volume of their production increased by 23.7%, and the production volume amounted to 18.81 trillion soums
If in January-May 2020 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.1%, and the physical volume index was 103.3%, then in January-May 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.3%, the index physical volume - 120.1%, production volume reached 4.25 trillion soums.
In January-May 2020, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 7.8%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, amounted to 100.0%. In January-May 2021, the share of chemical products amounted to 7.8%, the index of physical volume of production increased by 9.3, and the volume of production amounted to 10.16 trillion soums.
At the end of January-May 2020, the share of coke and product production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, amounted to 100.0%. In January-May 2021, the share of coke and refined products production amounted to 3.2%, the physical volume index also decreased by 33.4%, and the production volume amounted to 4.2 trillion soums.
At the end of January-May 2020, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.5%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, reached 109.0%. In January-May 2021, the share of this industry amounted to 8.3%, the physical volume index decreased by 21.8%, and the production volume amounted to 10.89 trillion soums.
At the end of January-May 2020, the share of the production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.7%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, increased by 8.5%. In January-May 2021, the share of this industry amounted to 1.6%, the physical volume index - 111.8%, production volume – 2.07 trillion soums.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of power supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning amounted to 12.3 trillion soums (7.7% of the total industry). The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 13.1%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 1.2 trillion soums (0.7% of the total industry). Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, there was an increase in services for the emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks by 33.0%, as well as services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 58.4%. At the same time, a decrease in the production of textile waste by 1.1% was recorded.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 49.4 trillion soums and, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate reached 107.3%, the share in the total volume of industry was 30.9%.
In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka products and beer amounted to 6.1% (6.6% in January-May 2020). In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.2% of the total volume of consumer goods) Andijan (17.5%), Tashkent (11.2%) and Samarkand (9.3%) regions. The largest growth in consumer goods production was recorded in Jizzakh (+24.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2020), Syrdarya (+22.0%), Bukhara (+22.0%), Samarkand (+24.2%) regions and Tashkent city (+20.5%), exceeding the national average (+7.3%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.5% of the total volume of nonfood products), Andijan (24.6%), Samarkand (9.0%) and Tashkent (8.1%) regions.

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth 39 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 24,4%.
The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by the growth in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Kashkadarya (+27.4% compared to January-May 2020), Jizzakh (+19.1%), Syrdarya (+23,7%), Samarkand (+10,9 %) regions and Tashkent city (+17.9%).
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on enterprises in Tashkent city (17.8% of the republican volume of industry), Tashkent (18.7%), Navoi (18,0%), Andijan (7.7%) and Ferghana (5.6%) regions. The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.3%) and Jizzakh (1.6%) regions.
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (4.62 million soums) in Navoi (28.37 million soums), Tashkent (10.01 million soums), Syrdarya (4.39 million soums) regions and Tashkent city (10.51 million soums). The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic amounted to 1.42 million soums, including in Tashkent city – 4.05 million soums, Andijan region – 2.71 million soums, Tashkent region – 1.85 million soums.
During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods worth 35.8 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 22.4%. In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Jizzakh (47.3% of the total volume of industry in the region), Samarkand (37.9%), Namangan (41.7%), Ferghana (39,4%) and Surkhandarya (37.6%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (5.8%), Tashkent (17.2%), Khorezm (20.3%) and Kashkadarya (19.8%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (15.9 %). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant volume of production of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Today, 88.4 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 16.3 thousand (18.4% of the total number of operating enterprises) fall on the city of Tashkent, 9.6 thousand (10.9 %) – Ferghana, 9,1 thousand (10.3 %) – Tashkent, 9,0 thousand (10.2 %) – Andijan, 7.6 thousand (8.6 %) – Samarkand and 7,0 thousand (7.9 %) – Namangan regions.
In January-May 2021, 9276 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 977 (10.5% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Ferghana, 879 (9.5%) - Samarkand, 838 (9,0%) - Kashkadarya, 792 (8,5%) – Namangan and 1012 (10,9%) - Tashkent city.
To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises are located in the cities of Andijan (3 246 units), Namangan (2 661 units), Samarkand (1 677 units), Kokand (1 461 units), as well as in the following districts of Tashkent city: Almazar (2 185 units), Chilanzar (2 007 units), Uchtepa (1 910 units), Yunusabad (1 778 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 456 units) and Mirzo-Ulugbek (1 352 units).
As of 1 June 2021, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (60 units), Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (65 units) and Gazgan city (36 units) of Navoi region; Arnasai (88 units) and Yangiabad (71 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeyli (82 units), Kanlykul (71 units), Takhtakupyr (77 units) and Bozatau (38 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (63 units) of Surkhandarya region.
