Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan and Islamic Development Bank (IDB) signed financial agreements for US$300 million.

The financial resources will be directed to implementation of the second stage of the project “Development of cooperation of houses in rural areas”.

IDB provided the resources for 15 years with two-year grace period. In 2017-2021, it is planned to construct 6,400 houses on new standard projects, 110.52 km of roads, as well as 197.8 km of water in six regions of Uzbekistan.

The project will allow improving the living conditions of about 30,000 people living in rural areas.

IDB provided US$100 million to implementation of the first stage of the project. Some 1,415 houses, 33.8 km of roads, 40.62 km of water networks were constructed in Tashkent, Samarkand and Ferghana regions in 2015-2016.
